Mayor Tishaura Jones Awards The Globe Building

"Development of The Year"

Mayor Tishaura O. Jones and St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) hosted the 2022 Mayor’s Business Luncheon on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Marriott St. Louis Grand – Majestic Ballroom.

The Globe Building, a longtime WBS client, was quick to invite WBS to the ceremony since we built the spaces the City was recognizing with the award.  Jessica Wright joined Globe Managing Partner Steve Stone and Globe Asset Manager Jeremy Salvatori at their table to share the honor.

This year’s luncheon theme, “The Region Begins Here,” was a nod to St. Louis’ position as the “Gateway to the West.”

During the luncheon, Master of Ceremonies, Jasmine Huda from KPLR TV in St. Louis, spoke to the crowd as Mayor Jones and St. Louis Development Corporation’s Executive Director, Neal Richardson presented the award to Steve Stone.

Ms. Huda’s remarks:

Reuse of the 720,000 square foot Art Deco gem has now become the location of choice for many geospatial firms in St. Louis, as well as the home to 75,000 square feet of new, highly specialized national security infrastructure that was announced by Senator Blunt back in May. And during the last 24 months, the Globe Building has leased almost 170,000 square feet to major tech credit tenants, including Maxar, Ball Aerospace, T-Kartor USA, Stereotaxis, and more recently to tech giant General Dynamics.

This is happening at the Globe because of the 145,000 square feet of data centers located in the building and the abundant fiber and power that follow the data centers into the building. No other office property in the region has the technology infrastructure that the Globe has to promote innovation and mission success.

Everyone, please congratulate Steve Stone and Jeremy Salvatori, Managing Partners for the Globe Building.
